Catholic Scripture Study International REGISTER NOW! Catholic Scripture Study International will study the Letter to the Romans beginning Sept. 7 through April 12, 2011; classes will meet on Tuesday mornings, in the Upper Room, from 9:30 AM - 11:15 AM. The cost is $60.00 and includes all materials. In order to have the books by the first class, please register by July 31. Catholic Scripture Study will begin The Prophets and Revelation on Thursday evenings, from 7:00-9:00pm, starting Sept. 9 - April 28, 2011, in the Upper Room #208. The same study is also offered on Friday mornings, from 9:30 - 11:15am, beginning Sept.10 - April 29, 2011. Elementary Faith Formation Registration EARLY REGISTRATION FOR FAITH FORMATION 2010-2011 BEGAN JUNE 1. We are currently accepting registrations for our 2010-2011 Faith Formation program, PK-6th grade. Our classes will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00am, 10:30am, and 12:00 noon, beginning Sun. Aug. 22, and Wednesday evenings, 1-6th grade, from 7:00pm-8:30pm, beginning Wed. Aug. 25. Class size is limited, please register early. Registration form is available on-line, or you may call the Faith Formation Office during regular business hours. Questions, please call 972-423-4715. Monthly Prayer Service A new monthly Prayer Service, Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Ladies’ Auxiliary. Begins September 9 at 7 PM in the Chapel. We are inviting all parishioners to join us the second Thursday of each month. The Service will begin with Exposition of The Blessed Sacrament, followed by the Holy Rosary, prayers for those in need and ending with Benediction. The purpose of the Service is to pray for those who are ill, in need of prayers or for other intentions. Please submit the name/names of those you wish to pray for by calling Ben or Bea Preboy (972) 422-6255, or give us the name/names before the Service that evening. |

NEW DAY GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP Begins on September 17, and meets for 9 consecutive Friday afternoons, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. New Day is for anyone who has lost a loved one to death. The New Day process helps participants work through the tasks of grieving in an atmosphere of caring and understanding. Cost: $20, include workbook. Pre-registration is required. | Sep 18-19, 2010 | Catechetical Sunday 2010 This year, Catechetical Sunday, September 19, 2010, will focus on the theme, “Matrimony: Sacrament of Enduring Love.” Those who have been designated by the community to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith. There will be commissioning of all catechists (in Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Scripture Study, RCIA, etc.) at all Masses Sept. 18 and 19. Thank you for your gift of stewardship! |

First Reconciliation Parent and Child Meeting There will be First Reconciliation Parent Child Meeting for all children and their parents on Mon. Sept. 27, beginning at 6:00pm, in the Sanctuary. This meeting is mandatory, if you wish your child to receive their sacraments this year. Parents will receive packets to work with their child at home; the reconciliation packets are to reinforce and supplement what the child is learning in Faith Formation class. Prayer Beyond the Beginning - When the Well Runs Dry Do you hope to deepen your prayer life and deepen your relationship with God? Join us this fall to read When the Well Runs Dry (Prayer Beyond the Beginnings) by Thomas H. Green, S.J. We will also use Blessed Columba Marmion’s discussion of prayer from Christ the Life of the Soul to enhance the experience. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, Father Green will teach and inspire you. We will be meeting on four Monday evenings, beginning Sept. 27 and ending Oct. 18. in the Parish library, Suite 105, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. First Communion Parent and Child Meeting Our First Communion parent (and child) meeting and "Demonstration Mass" will be Monday, February 7, 2011, beginning at 6:00pm, in the Sanctuary. First Communion packets will be handed out at this meeting, so that parents may work with their child at home to supplement what is taught in the classroom.
